Unlocking Youth from Poverty.

← Back to projects

We create green jobs and livelihood opportunities for youth and rural farmers by developing local enterprises around tree-based farming and Food Forest product value chains.

The project is designed to create practical pathways for youth and rural farmers to participate in the growing green economy. The project trains youth in groups to source tree seeds and produce quality seedlings for agroforestry, enabling them to establish and operate local nursery enterprises and earn income through the sale of planting materials to farmers and other agroforestry initiatives. The project supports the establishment of local enterprises around tree-based farming enabling young people and farmers to, produce valuable products and generate income. Works to develop Food Forest product value chains, connecting production with processing, market opportunities and local enterprise development. Through these activities, the project aims to turn local resources and practical agricultural knowledge into opportunities for employment, income generation and more resilient rural livelihoods.
