Tree Nursery - Mbeya

We have successfully completed a tree nursery training for young people in Mbalali, Mbeya, with Six Rivers Africa. Have established a tree nursery raising fruit trees, agroforestry biomass trees and selected cash crops. The young nursery operators will be able to supply quality planting materials to farmers and other actors developing agroforestry systems, creating a direct link between youth employment and the growing demand for agroforestry inputs. We hope that farmers, organisations, development partners and other agroforestry actors will support and work with these young people as they develop their nursery enterprise. Other images are from a tree nursery we established with a group of young people in Sagamaganga, Ifakara, at the end of last year. The nursery is doing wonderfully, and, as recently shared by the conservationists Irene Masonda from Six Rivers Africa, the young people are now generating revenue from their tree nursery activities.
